Telehealth use increases among Presbyterian patients

March 30, 2022FeaturedIn the News

During the pandemic, patients across the country have significantly increased their use of telehealth options for care.

At Presbyterian, those options include scheduled telehealth visits with primary and specialty care providers, as well as online visits and same-day video visits through Presbyterian Health Plan. The options are available at Get Care Today.

The significant increase in telehealth use at Presbyterian – and across New Mexico – was recently highlighted in The Santa Fe New Mexican.

Presbyterian Medical Group physician Dr. Carl Friedrichs III described the additional convenience for patients. Telehealth can be particularly helpful for those who live in rural communities in New Mexico and may have had to travel long distances for in-person care.

“The patient has the choice,” he said. “It’s an extra tool for patients.”
